So， my publisher's marketing team has been nagging me to do better on LinkedIn， especially for the security field， so this new galley copy was useful--it explains how the algorithm is set up， what optimizes searches by recruiters and peers， and for those who are using it to find corporate jobs， how the weak tie network functions to get you higher on the results lists when managers and headhunters look for keywords and job titles。 This isn't a great fit for the academic world's hiring processes， So， my publisher's marketing team has been nagging me to do better on LinkedIn， especially for the security field， so this new galley copy was useful--it explains how the algorithm is set up， what optimizes searches by recruiters and peers， and for those who are using it to find corporate jobs， how the weak tie network functions to get you higher on the results lists when managers and headhunters look for keywords and job titles。 This isn't a great fit for the academic world's hiring processes， but would be a useful gift for any new grad going out into the world and leveraging recommendations and alumni assistance or someone thinking of going into industry about how much the traditional rules of job searches have changed even over the last decade。 。。。more
